Deep Silver and 4A have given gamers a great fps in the way of Metro Last Light. Metro Last Light doesnt push gaming PCS and consoles to new levels but it does craft a wonderful FPS experience that moves beyond just going through the motions. The captivating and interesting story is one of the biggest selling points while the action and gameplay add depth to a fantastic game. This may be one of the sleeper hits of 2013.

A post-nuclear-apocalypse set in the ruins of a destroyed city where your main mode of getting from place to place is through underground railways. Has Bethesda made another Fallout? Unfortunately they havent and I am left longing for the day that they do release Fallout 4, but Metro: Last Light will certainly make the time going by a hell of a lot more enjoyable. While I did draw similarities between Metro and Fallout, Metro is different because you can kill Nazis as well as Communists now. Metro: Last light implements a whole bunch of mechanics that in the wrong hands would have fallen apart instantly, but fortunately, 4A pulled it off and created a damned good experience, albeit with a few flaws.

Metro: Last Light is a reminder that shooters can still be a tense, atmospheric affair, though its the introspective narrative and the solid gameplay that helps make this title a must-play for the year.
